Former Amoy Customs Tax Officers' Quarters
Xiamen Customs Tax Officers' Quarters, a British style two-storey red brick building completed in 1923, was the quarters for the Xiamen Customs' British tax officers. At that time, British officers wore a white suit all day, so locals called them white mice, hence the quarters’ nickname “white mice building”. It was also nicknamed  "five units building" because the entire building was divided into only five units.
